Chapter 56: Threaded Connection Analysis

This example problem demonstrates the capabilities and advantages of a 2-D to 3-D analysis for problems that require mapping the 2-D model solution to a corresponding extruded 3-D body so that the solution can continue based on the 3-D model. The analysis is performed using the Ansys Mechanical Application. To see this example solved using Ansys Mechanical APDL see Threaded Connection Analysis in the Technology Showcase: Example Problems.

The following features and capabilities are highlighted:

Overview

Analysis Type(s)Static Structural Analysis
Element Type(s) PLANE182: 2-D 4-Node Structural Solid
Solver Type(s) Ansys Mechanical
