4. Connections Objects

These objects define connections between parts or bodies. The objects are grouped by functionality.

ObjectDescription
BeamDefines a structural element that carries a load primarily in bending.
BearingDefines a two-dimensional elastic element used to confine relative motion and rotation of a rotating part.
Body InteractionsSets global options for all Body Interaction objects in an Explicit Dynamics Analysis.
Body InteractionCreates contact between bodies in an Explicit Dynamics Analysis.
ConnectionsDefines connections between two or more parts or bodies.
Connection GroupDefines connections among selected bodies.
Contact RegionDefines conditions for individual contact and target pairs.
End ReleaseAllows specified degrees of freedom to be released on a vertex between line bodies or a node between beam (line body) elements.
InterstageConnects the faces of the cyclically symmetric bodies specified by two different Stage objects.
JointDefines conditions for reference and mobile pairs that make up a joint.
Spot WeldDefines conditions for individual contact and target pairs for a spot weld, which is used to connect individual surface body parts to form a surface body model assembly.
SpringRegains its undeformed shape after a compression or extension load is removed.
