System and Node Context Menus

The following options are available when you right-click a system, node, or in some contexts the Scenery pane.

OptionDescription
General Options
Connect nodesOpens the Connect Nodes dialog box.Opening the dialog box from the Scenery pane offers all available nodes. Opening the dialog from a selected system shows only corresponding nodes.
CopyCreates a copy of the selection, including all connections (Ctrl+C). When opening the context menu from the Scenery pane, you can select Copy all.
Create
  • Create template from node

This option is only available for nodes. The selected node is added to the Templates pane.

  • Create template from system

This option is only available for systems. The selected system is added to the Templates pane.

  • Create nodes from template

This option is available when opening the context menu from a system or the Scenery pane. Select a template from the dialog box to copy into the selected system or onto the Scenery pane.

  • Create subsystem from selection

The selected nodes or systems are combined intoto a subsystem. You can now create connections using Connect nodes. You can also morpth the subsystem into a parametric system or an algorithm system using Morph into.

  • Note

Creates a note on a system or the Scenery pane.

Data FlowAllows you to set data flow flags.
Design FlowAllows you to set the design flow for integration nodes and most systems. You can send or receive designs to or from the parent system. This is a shortcut to using the Connect nodes dialog box.
EditOpens a dialog box for the node or system to specify settings and properties. Not availlable for the following:
  • Design Export

  • Monitoring

  • Append Designs to Binfile

  • While System

  • System

Finalize

Allows you to complete the system run correctly when the execution stopped before regular termination (for example, if you stopped the workflow execution manually).

During this step, all interim results are written, slot and system states updated, and an *.omdb file containing all calculated designs is stored. Finalizing the system allows you to run any connected subsequent systems when starting the workflow execution. This function is not avaliable for reliability systems since it is not recommended to continue with interim results.

Label positionMoves the label text to either the top or the bottom of a node.
Morph into
  • Systems:

Algorithm/parametric systems can be morphed into certain other systems. Specific settings are set to the initial state and the parametric is taken from the previous system.

    • Parametric system: Supports morphing to an empty system.

    • Algorithm system: Supports morphing to a parametric system or an empty system.

    • Reevaluate: Morphing is not supported.

  • Calculator:

The calculator node can be morphed into Constraints, Free Variables, or Objectives but not backwards.

  • Process and Script nodes:

Each process node can be morphed into another process node. Special process settings are taken from the previous node.

Paste/Paste into systemPastes copied elements into the Scenery pane or into a system (Ctrl+V).
Paste without placeholdersPastes copied elements into the Scenery pane or into a system and removes placeholders.
RenameAllows you to change the name of a node or system (F2).
RemoveDeleted the selection including all connections (Del). To select multiple nodes and systems, click the left mouse key or press Ctrl and select each element.
ResetDeletes all result data and restors the initial state.
Show working directoryOpens the wworking directory in a file browser.
Algorithm and Parametric System Options
Apply wizardTransforms a system into a different type of system using a wizard. The following wizards are available:
  • Parametric system: The system can be transformed into optimization, reevaluation, robustness or sensitivity systems.

  • Algorithm System: Any algorithm system can be transformed into a reevaluation system.

Show/Hide contentsExpands and collapses the content of a system for a cleaner overview of the Scenery pane.
Show PostprocessingOpens the Postprocessing window.
Start from hereStarts the run or calculation for this system and all dependent nodes.
Monitoring Options
Pin PreviewAdds a preview window to the Scenery pane to show results during the run.
MOP Options
Export FMUExports the mentamodel as a Functional Mock-up Unit (FMU).
