Creating and Managing User Groups

A user group is a list of users created for a specific purpose. Each group has a specific set of global permissions that determine what users in that group can do and access in Distributed Compute Gateway (DCG). In other words, the permissions of individual users are determined by the permissions set for the user group(s) to which they belong. Objects that users create (user groups, storage configurations, and so on) each have their own set of local permissions as well, enabling custom controls to be set for individual objects if needed.

The following user groups are available by default in DCG:

User GroupMain Functions
All Users
Developers
System Administrators
User Administrators

To be able to see the permissions on a user group, you must have edit permission on the group.

By default, users belonging to the User Administrators group can create additional user groups if desired and manage the users, permissions, and properties of groups that they create.
