Understanding the Live Preview

The following page presents you an overview of the Speos Live Preview.

Description

Speos Live Preview allows you to compute the simulation using progressive rendering with the most powerful GPU available on your computer, and displays the result in a dedicated window calculated in real-time.

Therefore:
  • you can preview the result of a simulation without having to run it the usual way.
  • you save time which allows you to be more effective and to focus more on the design.

The Live Preview is very useful when you do not know exactly the result you want to obtain, as it provides you with a workflow more oriented toward the exploration. It helps you experiment and apprehend what happens optically upon any change you operate. However, be aware that the Live Preview should not be used for validation purposes.

Technical Information

The Live Preview is compatible with NVIDIA GPUs only. GPUs supported are NVIDIA A5000 or higher.

The Live Preview is 4K compatible.

To get a list of the files that are compatible with the Live Preview, see Simulation Compatibility.

Interface

The Live Preview provides you with an intuitive interface and navigation in the project.

  1. The Sensors panel provides you with the simulated sensors that you can select individually to change the preview window.
  2. The Light panel (Virtual Lighting Controller) allows you to manage the light sources included in the simulation such as changing their contributions without running a new simulation, and creating different configurations.
  3. The bottom right ring provides you with:
  4. The bottom left ring controls the navigation modes and scaling options.
  5. The Status Bar provides you wih different simulation information that can be useful to understand how the simulation is progressing and the impact of the system settings on the performance.
  6. The top left menu provides you with customizable interface and navigation settings to better fit your use.
