Live Preview Parameters

The following page presents you the different parameters available to control the Live Preview display.

Display Options

The Display options provide you with different result viewing options.

True Color

True Color allows you to preview the result close to the reality with the color information.

False Color

False Color displays a preview easier to read with a false color scale.

Human Vision

  • The Human Vision, Local Adaptation mode defines the accommodation on a fixed value of the luminance map.
  • The Human Vision, Dynamic Adaptation 2019 mode enables the adaptation of the human eye.

It models the fact that the eye adapts locally as the viewer scans the different areas of the luminance map.

For more information, refer to Parameters of Human Vision.

Automatic Adaptation

With Automatic Adaptation you can:
  • activate Automatic Adaptation to base the adaptation on the maximum value of the result.
  • deactivate Automatic Adaptation to set a custom adaptation value.

Color management

Gamut Clipping: colors outside the gamut of the result displayed are clipped along the gamut borders towards the center of the lightness axis in order to make potential details appear.

Maintain lightness and hue keeps the lightness and hue of color inside the monitor gamut. Otherwise colors outside the monitor gamut will be saturated. Colors are closer to the white point luminance than the gamut borders: this favors better luminance variation over color rendering.

Note: The Color management options are not available in False color.
Note: When computing simulations containing camera sensors, the color layout cannot be changed and the level controller is unavailable.

Export sensor position

As you can navigate the scene, you can find some interesting viewpoints for which you have no sensor created in Speos. Thanks to Export sensor position , you can create a new sensor in Speos based on the active sensor in the Live Preview.

Compatible sensors

  • Radiance sensor Frame based on Focal type
  • Radiance sensor Frame based on Observer type
  • Radiance sensor Observer

Characteristics of the new created sensor

  • An origin system is created in the Structure tree and is based on the current location and orientation of the viewpoint.

The origin system is named after the new sensor name.

  • The new sensor is created in the Speos Simulation panel and named after the active sensor in the Live Preview, suffixed with a increment number.
  • The Axis System of the new sensor is based on the created origin system.

Save

You can save the current live preview result as XMP (*.xmp) or as picture (*.png, *.jpg, *.hdr, *.exr) when you reach the targeted design performance.

Note: Live Preview options (Human Visions and Color management) are not saved in the export result.
Note: If you do not see the save result option, refer to Setting Speos Preferences to allow the result generation.

Restart

The Restart button allows you to reset the preview to its initial state.

Play/Pause

When pausing the preview you pause the simulation.
  • You cannot move any sensor (3D navigation).
  • You can:
    • navigate using the 2D navigation
    • modify the Display options
    • modify the power/ratio of the layers from the Light Panel.
  • If you do some 3D navigation modifications, they will be taken into account after you play back the preview.
  • If you switch sensors, the preview plays back.

Playing the preview allows all possible change to the result displayed.

Navigation Modes

Icon Mode Description
3D navigation switches between Third person and First person navigation when moving your Illuminance sensor.
2D navigation allows you to zoom into details of your result.
Reset 2D position fits the result size to window
Reset 3D position reset the spatial position of the view.
1:1 scale adapts result size so pixels of the result matches pixels on the screen. LP window is unchanged
Fit window to image adjusts LP window to fit to the current displayed result sides (= no grey border). Result displayed size is unchanged.
Switch L/R Eye allows you to switch between Left and Right eyes when a VR Observer or VR Immersive sensor is selected.
