Teamcenter with NX

In an integrated Teamcenter / NX environment where NX part files are stored in Teamcenter, MI Materials Gateway is available for both Teamcenter and NX, and can be used to assign Granta MI materials to NX part models from both applications.

In Teamcenter, you can open an MI Materials Gateway window on any item that represents an NX assembly or part.

Right-click the item and select Send To > MI Materials Gateway.

Tip: To switch to another assembly or part, select it in Teamcenter, and right-click and select Send To > MI Materials Gateway.

A copy of the NX part file is downloaded to your local machine. You can make or edit assignments in MI Materials Gateway, and save the modified NX part file to Teamcenter.

Note: MI Materials Gateway does not support filtering by NX reference sets in Teamcenter. If the part model has reference sets defined, MI Materials Gateway will display 'Entire Part' when you open it from Teamcenter.

You can use MI Materials Gateway to find and assign materials from your Granta MI database.

For any material in your Granta MI database, you can run a 'Where Used' query to find all parts in your Teamcenter / NX system that it has been assigned to. The query results are shown as a list of NX parts with bodies and assignments, and the list of results can be exported as a file or analyzed using reports and dashboards.
