For design exploration, Ansys recommends and supports the use of optiSLang.

• When you select Ansys Lumerical for a Linux virtual desktop, GNOME Desktop is added automatically.

• For GPU compute on Lumerical autoscaling clusters, note the following:

  Running multiple simulations concurrently on multiple GPU nodes (in a parametric sweep, for example) is supported.

  Running a distributed solve of a single simulation on multiple GPU nodes is not supported.

  Running a distributed solve on multiple GPUs on a single node is supported.
