6.1. Creating a new SysML Model

In order to create a system/function model follow the usual steps to create a model:

  1. Select a package for "System Design" in the Model Browser. On which packages SysML models can be created depends on the nature of the default template, see Safety Domain Profiles.

  2. Open the context menu and choose New -> System/Function Model

  3. A dialog appears that asks for the name of the model. Enter a name and confirm the dialog

After creation of the model, the graphical editor opens automatically. The general Look & Feel corresponds to that of the other graphical editors in medini analyze. Please refer to General aspects for graphical editors for information of how to work with graphical editors.

If you want to import a model that has been created with a 3rd party SysML modelling tool, you can import the model as described in About SysML Model Integration.

In order to re-use definitions of one system/function model in other system/function models or even across project boundaries, you may also create an element library. Please refer to Using Element Libraries for further details.
