Auto Contact creates multiple contacts by selecting bodies. If the distance between faces on the selected bodies is less than the specified maximum distance, contact for each face pair is internally created. The parameters for Auto Contact creation are introduced in the figure and table below.
Figure 4.22: Description of parameters in the Auto Contact creation dialog
Parameter | Description |
1. Object List | Use to select the contacted bodies using the MultiGeneral Picker. Rigid bodies, EasyFlex bodies, and FE bodies are available. For an FE body, a patchset must be pre-defined. |
2. Maximum Distance | Use to set the maximum distance. If the distance between two faces or patchsets is within the specified distance, a contact is automatically defined. |
3. Name | Use to set the name of the Auto Contact object. |
4. Show Property Dialog | Use to open the property dialog after finishing the creation operation. |
5. Control buttons | If all necessary parameters are set, these buttons are enabled. For more information about the control buttons, refer to Entity Creation. |
