ParticipantType (setting)

Type of application participating in the coupled analysis.

Tip:  Shown in the GUI as the Coupling Participant | Participant Type setting.

Participant types may be specified as follows:

  • May be specified in the participant's input file.

  • May be specified by the AddParticipant() command's ParticipantType argument. When specified in this way, the argument value overrides the participant value specified in the participant's .scp file.

  • In Workbench workflows using a data file instead of a solver participant, may be specified in the XML data file defined by System Coupling's ExternalDataFile setting.

Possible values:

  • AEDT

  • CFD-SRV

Target-side server participant in one-way transfers of modal data between Mechanical and CFX in an aerodamping co-simulation.

  • CFX

  • DEFAULT:

Used when no participant type is specified.

  • DEFAULT-SRV

  • EXTERNALDATA

Used for static participants, such when a static data file is used instead of a solver, for workflows involving System Coupling in Workbench.

When selected, the ExecutionControl singleton does not exist and System Coupling accesses the XML data file specified by the ExternalDataFile setting.

  • FMU

  • FMU-PROXY

  • FORTE

  • LS-DYNA

  • MAPDL

  • MECH-SRV
