Optimizing Performance with Solution Fidelity

The fidelity of the solution is controlled primarily using the slider in the stage navigator. This acts differently depending on if you are in Explore or Refine. In both cases an increased fidelity will capture additional detail but will take longer to produce a result.

In Explore, the fidelity controls the solution grid density. With higher densities, additional geometric details can be captured, such as thinner parts and gaps. In Refine, the fidelity controls the solution mesh density. The mesh is generated automatically as part of the solution process and adapts automatically to the applied physics conditions.

For further control, you can choose the desired level of your solution accuracy or adjust the sizing methodology as described in Global Solution Fidelity . Additionally, you can make local fidelity adjustments to capture specific effects.

During topology optimization, you can automatically refine the mesh.

Note: When opening a project on a different machine, the fidelity control in Explore may change due to GPU memory system differences. However, the obtained solution will remain consistent.
