The SID: A Visual Summary

The Simulation Information Display (SID) displays information about your simulation visually so you can quickly review. A cluster of controls centrally located at the base of the workspace, it includes:

Label Term Description
A Notification hex Displays messages and notifications about your simulation.
B Applied physics Visual summary of the applied physics in your simulation. At a glance, you can see the type of physics used and whether multi-physics conditions are applied.
C Calculation type hex Displays the types of calculations in the simulation:
  • static or steady-state calculation: used to determine long-term behavior
  • time-dependent calculation: used to follow the behavior over time
  • frequency-response (FDTD): a time domain method used to solve for electric and magnetic fields as a function of time
D Fidelity control

Control the fidelity of your solution by sliding it to the right for higher precision, or to the left for a quick solution.

Use the Spacebar on the keyboard to display and/or enter the fidelity value.

E Simulation manager Click to display options or rename the current simulation.
F Current status indicator Real-time information about the status and progress of your simulation. You can track the progress of the update by observing the color change in the SID outline.
G Defined variations hex Click to display the defined variations table, with details such as dimensions and some physics conditions.
H Modality hex Displays a modal analysis simulation, used to model vibration characteristics.
I Stage navigator Switch back and forth from one stage to the next.
