59.6. Analysis and Solution Controls

The solution involves a steady-state thermal analysis followed by a downstream structural analysis.

The steady-state thermal solution is straightforward after applying the heat-generation loads and convection boundary conditions.

The subsequent structural solution involves reading in the temperatures from the .rth file (LDREAD). Large deflection is enabled with a minimum of five substeps defined. Displacement convergence is enabled and the heat-flow convergence is disabled (CNVTOL). The SURF152 elements defined previously for convection are deselected before solving the structural analysis.
