The Imported Solid Mesh is passed to a structural system to simulate a compression load case until the surfaces of the helix are in contact. See system D in Figure 4.33: Mechanical Model F4 with the Bodies Roving and Tube.
Once the solution is up-to-date, the composite solid model can be post-processed in Mechanical or ACP (Post). The figure below shows the composite post-processing in Mechanical. A Composite Failure Tool is set up to address the different material types (woven and UD fabrics, and core material). This can be achieved by selecting for example the Max Stress, Puck, and Core Shear failure criteria.
