Plotting curves from search results

Go to the Curves page to view functional data curves from records in your search results.

Note: This feature is only available if your data view has been configured to enable it.

Select records from the record list to the right of the plot to add curves.

You can choose different properties for plot axes, and switch between logarithmic scale (only available when all the data is positive) and linear scale.

Note that:

  • Curves for the same data may look different in MI Explore and MI Viewer because of the use of cubic spline interpolation in MI Viewer.
  • Curves can only be plotted for Attributes that are searchable. If you don't see curves that you are expecting to see on the Curves graph, check that the Attribute can be used as a search filter option is selected in the Attribute properties in the MI Admin Schema tool.

To open the datasheet for the record where the curve data is located, double-click the curve or click Open datasheet in the Record List on the right of the plot, or use the right-click menu on the curve.

Right-click a curve to see additional options.
  • Show datasheet - open the record datasheet.
  • Add to Favorites list - add the selected record to a personal Favorites List.
  • Run report - generate a report on the selected record.
  • Export Data > Export Material Cards - export data from the selected record as Material Cards for use in CAD, CAE, or PLM applications
  • Export Data > Export Data to Excel - export data from the selected record to a Microsoft Excel workbook Microsoft Excel via MI Export.
  • Data Flow - switch to MI Data Flow Manager and view any active Granta MI workflow tasks relating to the selected record.

The availability of some of these options will depend on your data view configuration and whether you have sufficient user privileges.

You can save your search criteria, including axis settings, parameter values, and selected records, as a Custom Search.

Note: The following search criteria are not supported by Custom Search and will be removed from your search:
  • Meta-attributes
  • Record links
