This section contains the following topics:Searching for dataYou can search for records in MI Explore by adding search terms and criteria. All records that include the search terms, and match the search criteria are returned, and can be displayed as a list, a scatter plot, or a curve.Viewing datasheetsOpen a record datasheet to view all of the material property data. FavoritesFavorite materials can be added to personal lists of records, allowing them to be accessed later. Favorites Lists can be published and made available to other users (for example, as an 'Approved Materials List').Creating recordsNew records can be added to your database if you have the correct permissions to do so. Comparing recordsThe Compare Records feature allows you to view datasheets for up to 10 different records side by side, for easy comparison.Editing dataIf you have the correct permissions, you can edit data in MI Explore.Exporting Material CardsGranta MI exporters can export material card information for use in CAD, CAE, or PLM applications such as Abaqus/CAE, ANSYS Workbench, CATIA, Creo, and Nastran. All data types except file and picture data can be exported.Exporting data to ExcelYou can export data to an Excel workbook, where users with no knowledge of Granta MI, or the structure of the information that must be supplied, can review and update data, or enter new data in Microsoft Excel. Running reportsWhere reports from the MI Reports package are installed in your Granta MI system, you may be able to run reports that analyze different aspects of product design and risk.Data viewsA data view in MI Explore defines which database, record properties, and application features are visible. Data views are configured by your MI Data Administrator to provide you with a focused view of relevant data.Version-controlled dataIn version-controlled Tables, the process by which updates to records and data are published is controlled, ensuring that users in your organization have the latest data that is both approved and authorized, while retaining history for traceability purposes.
