Searching for data

You can search for records in MI Explore by adding search terms and criteria. All records that include the search terms, and match the search criteria are returned, and can be displayed as a list, a scatter plot, or a curve.

For example, a text search for silicate could return all of these records:
  • Alumino silicate - 1720
  • Lithium aluminosilicate
  • Porcelain (silicaeous)
  • Terracotta
(Where the Porcelain and Terracotta records include the phrase "alumino-silicate" in their Composition (summary).)

Search terms may contain any letters or numbers, and they are not case-sensitive. Most punctuation and special characters are ignored when you search. To fine-tune your search query, you can include search query operators within search terms.
