Data views

A data view in MI Explore defines which database, record properties, and application features are visible. Data views are configured by your MI Data Administrator to provide you with a focused view of relevant data.

The name of the current data view is displayed in the window header:

Note: Your Administrator might have configured MI Explore to show only certain data views, or to not permit you to select or customize views.
  • To switch to a different data view:
    1. Select MI > Explore to see all of the available data views:
    2. Click the data view name in the toolbar at the top of the window, then choose the data view you want from the list.

  • To customize a data view:
    1. Click the data view name in the toolbar at the top of the window.
    2. Click Details.
    3. Choose a different database, data table, or Layout.

Detailed information on all the available Explore data view configuration options can be found in MI Administration and Configuration.
    6. Click Apply to apply these data view settings in your current MI Explore session.
Modifications you make to a data view will not be saved to another session. If you want to access a data view that you have customized, bookmark the URL.

The current data view configuration settings are saved in JSON format in your browser download folder. You can read about all the settings in this file in the Explore application configuration topics in Granta MI Administration and Configuration.
