A task definition template defines a solver job. Specifically, it defines the following:
Application(s) to run
Execution method (command or script)
Available solver settings
Environment variables
Input file types to prompt for
Default output file types to be generated
Default values for resource requirements, variables, and solver settings (optional)
When you create a project, you must select a task definition template. The template determines the settings that are available in the Create Project wizard and is used to form the job definition for the project.
Default templates are supplied for several Ansys applications and additional templates can be created.
In the Ansys HPC Job Manager web app, you view, create, import, and manage task definition templates on the Templates page.
You can click a template in the table to open its details view, where you can edit the properties that were set when the template was created.
