4. Add-ons

The following updates were made to the Mechanical add-ons for Release 2025 R2:

  • The DesignLife add-on offers the following capabilities:

    • The ability to Filter Duplicated Mesh IDs with higher damage or lower safety factor.

    • Spot Weld Analysis Settings for Weld Diameter and Method.

    • Support for both independent and mesh-dependent beams in a Spot Weld analysis.

    • A Mean Stress Correction setting has been added for Spot Weld analysis.

    • Life and Damage Vector results are supported for a Solid Seam Weld analysis.

    • The WeldHotSpot Solution Location case is supported for a Stress Life analysis.

    • The ability to read standard SN/EN curves from a Materials Database for Stress, Safety Factor and Strain Gauge analyses.

    • The PSD Table and Curve are now integrated into the Mechanical application display.

    • Complex Algorithm properties are exposed for all the Frequency Domain Loads.

    • You can now use the Commands object to access properties or property values that are not exposed in the DesignLife add-on, but which you wish to modify in the input.dcl.

    • Young's Modulus and Tensile Ultimate Strength properties must now only be defined in the Engineering Data for those materials used in the model.

    • All properties passed to the input.dcl created by the DesignLife add-on are now written in alphabetical order, for easier debugging and comparison.

    • For Solid Seam Weld analysis, the solid_seamweld_config.xmls is now generated automatically. The Solid Weld Auto property allows you to reuse this file on subsequent runs.

  • The NVH Toolkit add-on now includes support for:

  • The Forced Response add-on has been updated to include the following features:

    • A Modal Force result, which displays the content of the fileFSUMT.matr matrix file in tabular data and graphical format.

    • A Mode Multiplier plot, which displays the content of the fileaVec.matr matrix file in tabular data and graphical format.

    • The capability to generate Cold Coordinate temperature and pressure maps.

    • The Multiharmonic Plot has additional stress and strain results for Shell and Solid nodes and elements.

    • The Multiharmonic Chart has additional stress results for Shell and Solid nodes and elements.

  • The Rotordynamics add-on has been expanded to include:

  • A new Custom Results add-on has been created to enhance result interpretation and validation using SEPC and Relative Deformation.

  • Updates for the Additive Manufacturing add-ons are described in the Additive Manufacturing Release Notes.
