7.9. Cylinder to Multi-Curve Contact

Cylinder to Multi-Curve Contact represents contact forces between a cylinder and curves. Cylinder to Multi-Curve Contact supports spring, damping and friction forces. Action geometry is represented by a cylinder, which is defined with two center points for the top and bottom circular planes and a radius. The base contact surface is represented by a multi-curve of a Curveset as shown in Surface Based on Multiple Curves in the Motion Theory Reference. A Curveset on the base body must be specified before creating the contact. Cylinder to Multi-Curve Contact calculates its force based on the penetration and relative velocities between cylinder and base surface at the contact point. The action force is applied at the contact points on the action cylinder and an equal and opposite reaction force is applied at the same position on the base surface. Cylinder to Multi-Curve Contact is only available for contact between rigid bodies.
