3.1. Turbo Setup Workflows

  1. With Ansys Workbench running, create a new Turbo Setup system (available in the Component Systems toolbox).

(Double-click the Turbo Setup system or drag it onto the Project Schematic view.)

  2. Edit the Turbo Setup cell.

(Right-click the Turbo Setup cell and select Edit.)

Editing the cell causes the Turbomachinery Data Setup dialog box to appear. This dialog box contains the input data required to generate the analysis systems used to assess the centrifugal compressor performance and the ability to display the performance parameters graphically.

  3. Specify the required input settings:

    • Machine configuration and mesh density

    • Inlet conditions

    • Fluid properties

    • Operating conditions

For details on the input settings, see Basic Setup and Operating Conditions.

  4. Create a Throughflow system and link the upstream blade design to the Vista TF setup cell for a rapid assessment of the design.

For details, see Creating a New Throughflow System.

  5. Create a Turbomachinery Fluid Flow system and link the upstream blade design to the Turbo Mesh cell for a detailed assessment of the design using Ansys CFX. For details, see Creating a New Turbomachinery Fluid Flow System.

  6. Display and compare the machine performance using the Performance Map tab in the Turbomachinery Data Setup dialog box.

    For details, see Performance Map.
