Heat

The Heat condition simulates the transmission across faces or bodies of a specified amount of heat energy. A positive value of heat will add energy to a body, whereas a negative value of heat will remove energy from a body.

You can apply heat to either a face or body as a total heat (in Watts), a heat per unit area (Watts/m2), or heat per unit volume (Watts/m3), depending on the type of geometry selected. For example, if you select a face, you can apply a total heat or heat per unit area, whereas if you select a body, you can apply a total heat or heat per unit volume.

When you specify a heat per unit area, the input value is multiplied by the area of the faces to determine the total heat. If you select multiple bodies, the input value is divided by the total volume of the bodies to get the total heat. When you apply heat per unit volume to multiple selected bodies, then the input value is multiplied by the volume of the bodies to determine the total heat.
