4.2. AqwaWave Output Files

Three types of output files can be generated after running AqwaWave:

  1. FILENAME.OUT

General output file containing structural model definitions and the analysis results, where 'FILENAME' is the input file name of AqwaWave without extension.

  2. STRUCTURE_AQLD####.dat

These are the computed load information files, which contain the pressure distributions on elements or forces on tubes/nodes, together with balancing accelerations. 'STRUCTURE' is the file name of the structural model without extension, defined by STRU command (see Structural Model Information). When AqwaWave is run, it creates a separate file for each load case, '####' is the sequence number of the load case with an offset given by the LCOF command (default 1000).

For example, if the structural file name is STRUFEM, and two load cases are defined in the AqwaWave data file, and the offset defined by LCOF option is 2000, then two loading files will be created: STRUFEM_AQLD2001.DAT for the load case 1, STRUFEM_AQLD2002.DAT for the load case 2.

  3. STRUCTURE.ext

If the FEPG option in the FELM definition block is ANSY, this file contains the commands for importing each load case automatically into a Mechanical APDL finite element analysis using a series of /INPUT commands.

If the FEPG option is NEUT, then this file will not be created.
