Chapter 30: Acoustic Analysis of a Small Speaker System

This example problem demonstrates the use of acoustic elements coupled with structural elements to examine the performance of a speaker assembly.

The following features and capabilities are highlighted:

  • Structural-acoustic coupling using fluid-structure interaction (FSI) in 3D

  • Use of a symmetric FSI algorithm

  • Use of perfectly matched layers (PML) to absorb outgoing acoustic waves

  • Postprocessing sound pressure level (SPL) and velocity

  • Far-field postprocessing of acoustic field

  • User-defined symmetric expansion options
