Appendix B. Example: Energy Calculations in Transient and Harmonic Analyses

This example demonstrates the accuracy of energy results obtained via full harmonic and full transient analyses.

The harmonic analysis uses the option to calculate average, amplitude, and peak values for stiffness and kinetic energies, damping energy, and work done by external loads (HROUT with EngCalc = YES). The transient analysis uses the option to calculate damping energy and work done by external loads (TRNOPT with EngCalc = YES).
