Making Measures Analysis

The Measures tool allows you to analyze the photometry of a result to ensure compliance with regulations.

How to make an analysis?

  1. Click Tools, Measures .

  2. Create an Area to measure.

  3. Define the Shape of the area created.

  4. Define the parameters to analyze the area.

What are the available parameters?

  • Shape corresponds to the shape of the area to analyze.

  • Magnitude corresponds to the chromaticity coordinates on the chromaticity diagram.

  • Operator allows you to verify that light beams in automotive lighting comply with regulations.

  • Measure corresponds to the formulas of measure calculation.

  • Threshold defines the minimum and maximum values between which the measure result must be included.

  • Rule allows you to check measure result by comparing it to the target defined thanks to comparison operators.

A Rule applies to one measure.

  • Global Rule allows you to create independent operations/functions/formula.

A Global Rule is not associated to a measure.

How to manage an analysis?

Computing data

  • Computing data manually is useful when you have a lot of measures that take time to compute.

When you create or modify measures, click Compute data manually .

Only the newly created or modified measures are computed.

  • Computing data in real time is useful when you have few measures to compute.

Click once Compute data in real time .

Each time you create or modify a measure, the data are automatically calculated.

Displaying columns

According to the type of map, some columns are hidden by default.

The Grid columns selection window defines:

  • which columns to display in the Measure analysis table.

  • which columns to display in a Speos simulation Report.

  1. Right-click in the Measure analysis table and click Select Columns.

  2. For each column, check Display or Report.

The columns checked to be displayed in the report are used when you apply a .xml measure template to a Speos sensor.

To export a .xml measure template, see the Exporting a measure template section below.

Exporting a measure template

To export a .xml measure template, in the File tab, select Export template.

The .xml file exported is intended to be applied to a .xmp result in Speos.

Measures are automatically created in the .xmp file generated during the simulation according to the measure data defined in the .xml template file.
