Gap between end winding and housing [front of motor].

EWdg-Housing [R]

Gap between end winding and housing [rear of motor].

EWdg-Bore [F]

Gap between end winding and stator bore [front of motor].

Gap between end winding and stator bore [rear of motor].

EWdg Overhang [F]

End winding axial overhang [front of motor].

Only shown when user specified end winding overhang is specified in Geometry Settings

EWdg OH Mult [F]

End winding axial overhang multiplier [front of motor].

Wdg Extension [F]

Amount that winding extends beyond stator lamination before bending into end winding [front of motor]

Amount that winding extends beyond stator lamination before bending into end winding [rear of motor]

EWdg-Endcap [F]

Gap between end winding and endcap [front of motor]

EWdg-Endcap [R]

Gap between end winding and endcap [rear of motor]

Note: The channels that are created in Wdg Extension [F] and [R] can be used to pass air through in the End Space Convection Correlation - by default this cooling path is neglected as its k1 factor is set to zero.

More recently an addititional method of specifying the endwinding dimensions has been provided. (see Geometry Settings)

If end winding specification = Winding Expansion then

Winding Add [Outer F]:

Amount that winding extends radially outwards beyond the end winding extension on the armature. Used for drive end (front) end-winding.

Winding Add [Outer R]:

Amount that winding extends radially outwards beyond the end winding extension on the armature. Used for non drive end (rear) end-winding.

Winding Add [Inner F]:

Amount that winding extends radially inwards beyond the end winding extension on the armature. Used for drive end (front) end-winding.

Winding Add [Inner R]:

Amount that winding extends radially inwards beyond the end winding extension on the armature. Used for non drive end (rear) end-winding.
