View and manage your CAE assignments

In HyperMesh, the assignments panel (in the lower half of the MI Materials Gateway window) shows the Granta MI materials data that is currently assigned to components in your part geometry.

To see more information about an assignment, right-click and select View datasheet.
To update a version-controlled assignment, right-click and select Update.

Note: This will re-assign the material model using the latest versions of both the material and the model definition. If the model requires parameter values, the previous values will be used again wherever possible.
To remove a material assignment, right-click and select Remove > Material.

This deletes the material CAE material model data from the component.
To copy and paste assignments from one component to another, use the right-click menu.

Note: Granta MI material references that have been imported from a CAD application cannot be copied and pasted until they have been re-assigned. See Using materials assigned by a CAD designer

If an assignment is marked as missing , this means that it can no longer be found in your Granta MI database (for example, because it has been deleted or withdrawn). Where possible, its name is shown to help you find a suitable replacement.
