Assigning default simulation data to all components

In MI Materials Gateway for HyperMesh, you can assign default data for simulation to all components in your part geometry that have Granta MI material references.

Prerequisites: This feature requires appropriate defaults to be specified in your Granta MI system.

Assigning default data in bulk is useful when you import a part geometry with CAD material references.

  • If your Granta MI system is configured to use Simulation records, the default simulation record for the CAD material is assigned to each component, using the default material model type for the simulation record.

    If the default simulation record or model type is not available, the default material model for the CAD material is assigned.

  • If your Granta MI system is not configured to use simulation records, the default material model for the CAD material is assigned to each component.
CAUTION: This will assign default data (where possible) to every component that has a Granta MI material reference, and will overwrite any existing material model assignments.
To assign default data to all components:
At the top right of the assignments panel, click Assign default simulation data to all components.
