Review the certificates currently used for server authentication on your Granta MI
Pro application server, and replace or remove them, if necessary.
Granta MI 2024 R2 implements new certificate requirements for the MI Server API
server certificate that allow the same certificate to be used for server/client
authentication by MI Server API, MI Selection Service, and MI Material Calibration
Service.
Before upgrading Granta MI Pro:
-
Remove the existing MI Material Calibration Service certificate from the
certificate store.
MI Material Calibration now uses the MI Server API server certificate to
authenticate client applications. A separate certificate, as documented in
previous releases, can no longer be used.
-
Review the MI Server API server certificate requirements listed in Required certificates.
-
If your existing certificate does not satisfy all the requirements, install a
new one as described in SSL certificate setup, and remove
the original from the certificate store.
There should be only one certificate in the Local Machine certificate store
that is issued to the Granta MI application server with the purpose of Server
Authentication (Enhanced Key Usage includes Server
Authentication).
-
Upgrade your Granta MI Pro installation.
-
If you replaced you MI Server API server certificate with a new one, update the
MI Server API server certificate thumbprint stored in the MI Server Connection
tool and MI Service Layer Configuration tool.
-
To configure MI Ansys Material Calibration Service to use the MI Server API
server certificate, uninstall it and then re-install, selecting the MI Server
API server certificate during installation. See Changing the certificate used by MI Material Calibration.
