Changing the certificate used by MI Material Calibration

From version 2024 R2, MI Material Calibration uses the MI Server API server certificate for client authentication.

New, stricter certificate requirements introduced in version 2024 R2 mean that the same certificate can now be used to provide server/client authentication for MI Server API, MI Material Calibration service, and MI Selection Service.

The SSL certificate used for MI Material Calibration in previous releases should be removed, and MI Material Calibration must be configured to use the MI Server API server certificate instead. To do this, you must uninstall, and the re-install the MI Material Calibration component.

  1. Ensure that the MI Server API server certificate is installed in the Local Machine certificate store and that the old MI Material Calibration certificate has been removed. See Updating SSL certificates.
  2. Uninstall the MI Ansys Material Calibration Service software.
    1. Open the 2024 R2 Granta MI Installation Manager.
    2. Select the Uninstall Granta MI components option, and click Next.
    3. Select the Uninstall MI Ansys Material Calibration Service option, and click Next.
  3. Re-install the component following the steps in Installing MI Ansys Material Calibration Service.
