Projects located in the desktop client can be shared to the Ansys System Engineering Portal. After the project is on the Portal server, you can set up collaborators and assign roles there.
After you have shared a project to the server, it is completely separate from the original version in the desktop client. You can rename the shared project and modify it without affecting the original version. In this way, you can use a project in the desktop client as a template to generate projects on the server.
To share your local project, make sure you are logged into a server in the Server Browser. Then complete these steps.
In medini analyze, select the project, right-click and select Share Project...
In the Share Project dialog, complete these steps.
From the Server dropdown menu, select the server to which you want to share your project.
From the Space dropdown menu, select which space the project will be in. When a project is in an organization space, you can collaborate on it with others in that organization.
Note: You can move a project from a personal space to an organization space, but you cannot move a project in the organization space to your personal space.
Optional. Edit the project name. This is the project name that appears on the server and in the Portal.
Optional. Add a description for your project.
Select whether the project will be visible only to you and your collaborators, your entire organization, or everyone.
For more information about visibility settings, in the Ansys System Engineering Portal, click the Help link.
Click .
Click .
You get a message saying the project was successfully added.
Optional. Click Yes to open your shared project in the Model Browser.
The Model Browser highlights your project with a green overlay, letting you know it is shared from the server.
In the Server Browser, decorators appear with your project, letting you know which space it is in and whether it is opened in the Model Browser.
You can now go to the Portal and add collaborators to your project, change the project visibility, move the project to a different organization, and so on.
Tip: To see changes you made to your project in the server appear in the desktop client, in the desktop client select the server, right-click and choose Refresh.
