4.33. ACP to DYNA

This option allows the transfer of Ansys ACP Composite Definition HDF5 files into the LS-DYNA format. Available options allow the transfer of layered shells and solids to LS-DYNA native shell and thick-shell elements, allowing different ways to initialize layer-wise material orientations for use with composite materials.

An existing interface to the ansmat database allows the transfer of material data stored in an engineering database (*.engd) or XML file to specific LS-DYNA material cards.

*MAT_054 (*MAT_ENHANCED_COMPOSITE_DAMAGE), *MAT_058 (*MAT_LAMINATED_COMPOSITE_FABRIC), and *MAT_058_SOLID are supported.

4.33.1. Main Mapping Command

ENVYO = ACP-DYNA

4.33.2. Input and Output Meshes

SourceFile = STRING Define the name and, if needed, the path of the source file. In this case, an ACPCompositeDefinitions.h5 file.
MaterialDataBaseFile = STRING Define the name and, if needed, the path of the material database. This input is optional.
MappingResult = STRING Define the result filename. The mapping result is written to this newly-generated file. Existing files are overwritten.
Shell_Option = STRING

Define shell output options, consistent with the input file. Possible options are:

BETA

BETA_OFFSET_COMPOSITE

BETA_OFFSET_COMPOSITE_LONG

COMPOSITE

COMPOSITE_LONG MCID_OFFSET

OFFSET_COMPOSITE

OFFSET_COMPOSITE_LONG

THICKNESS

THICKNESS_COMPOSITE

THICKNESS_COMPOSITE LONG

TShell_Option = STRING

Define thick-shell output options for the translation of layered solids into layered LS-DYNA thick shell (TSHELL) elements. These must be consistent with the input file. Possible options are:

BETA

BETA_COMPOSITE

COMPOSITE

Part_Option = STRING

Define the part output option (default = *PART). This must be consistent with the input file. Possible options are:

COMPOSITE

COMPOSITE_LONG

COMPOSITE_TSHELL

COMPOSITE_TSHELL_LONG

ELFORM = INTInteger value assigning ELFORM to section or PART_COMPOSITE_XXX cards.
MaterialAssignment = STRING, STRING

Link material definitions from ansmat database to LS-DYNA application. This field can be repeated as needed. The first of the two strings holds the name of the material in the XML materials database, the second holds the target LS-DYNA material model. Inputs for this second string can be:

MAT_54

MAT_054

MAT_ENHANCED_COMPOSITE_DAMAGE

MAT_58

MAT_058

MAT_LAMINATED_COMPOSITE_FABRIC

MAT_58_SOLID

MAT_058_SOLID

MAT_LAMINATED_COMPOSITE_FABRIC_SOLID
