19.2.2.3. Using Probe Objects

Use probe objects to find results for objects in the tree (such as elastic support and weak springs) and obtain reaction forces and moments at supports.

Applying a Probe Object

To apply a probe object to your model:

  1. Click the Solution object.

  2. Do one of the following to add a probe object:

    • Choose the desired probe object from the Probe menu on the Solution ribbon.

    • Right-click anywhere in the Solution window, choose Insert Probe, and select the desired probe object from the menu.

  3. Scope the probe object and specify its options by using the Details pane.

Following the solution, the display of the probe object reveals the displaced mesh for the specified time. The probe result shows values over time and for a specified time. Depending on the selected probe object, the Details pane displays result data specific to that probe object type (such as emitted radiation or maximum and minimum values over time).


Note:  You cannot turn off the time history for result probes.
