A General Contact entity represents contact forces between two bodies at a contact point. General Contact supports three types of force - spring, damping and friction. Contact surfaces such as a Faceset, Patchset or Edgeset on the two contacted bodies must be specified to create the contact. A General Contact entity calculates force based on the penetration and relative velocities between the action vertex and the base surface. The action force is applied to the action vertex and an equal and opposite reaction force is applied at the same position on the base body. General Contact is available for contact between rigid bodies, nodal flexible bodies or EasyFlex bodies.
