10.5.2. Exporting Currently Existing Blades to NDF Files

You can export one or more of the currently existing blades into an NDF file as follows:

  1. In the Tree Outline view, right-click a FlowPath feature or a Blade feature and select one of the following commands (subject to availability) from the Export BladeEditor NDF file submenu:

    • Camberline Thickness Mode

Select this command to export an NDF file that encodes the applicable blades using camberline thickness definitions.

Note:  The Camberline Thickness Mode command is not available if the following condition exists:

      • A blade that is currently defined by profile points would be part of the export.

    • Profile Point Mode

Select this command to export an NDF file that encodes the applicable blades using profile point definitions.

Note:  The resulting NDF file can be loaded into BladeBuilder. For details, see BladeBuilder.

The Save As dialog box appears.

  2. Ensure that Save as type is set to BladeModeler Neutral Data Format (*.ndf;*.xml).

  3. Specify a file name and click Save.

If you write an NDF file based on a Blade feature, all blades belonging to that blade’s row (for example, the main blade and all splitter blades) are included in the NDF file.

If you write an NDF file based on a FlowPath feature, all blades (in all blade rows) belonging to that FlowPath feature are included in the NDF file.

Export to NDF has limitations as noted in NDF File Export Details and Limitations.
