Beam Properties

Select a beam in the Beams folder and you can change the following properties, which are found in the Beam section of the Properties panel:

• Type: Select an option from the drop-down list - Beam, Cable, Spring, Link/Truss, Pipe, or Thermal Fluid. Spring or Link/Truss types may be applied only to straight lines.
• Orientation: The angle of the profile relative to the path.
• Profile Name
• Reversed: Changing this property flips the profile.
• Rigid
• Section Anchor: Select the location where the profile intersects with the path of the beam: Area Centroid, Shear Center, or Location. If you select Location, then you can enter the X and Y coordinates of the anchor location. Area Centroid is the default.
