Configuring SpaceClaim and Ansys

In order to transfer geometry, parameters, and named selections from an external SpaceClaim license to Ansys Workbench, the correct import options must be set within Workbench.

To set the Workbench geometry import options:

1. Click Tools > Options in the Ansys Workbench menu.

2. Select Geometry > Import in the left panel of the Options dialog.

3. Check the Use SpaceClaim Direct Modeler as an External CAD option.

4. Select 3D for the Analysis Type.

5. Make sure there are no prefix values to filter for in the Parameters or Named Selections fields.

6. The following options should not be selected: Reader Save Part File, and Smart Update.

   All other options should be selected.

7. Select None for Mixed Import Resolution.

8. Select SpaceClaim for the Preferred Geometry Editor.

9. Restart Workbench for the changes to take effect.
