Plot Preference Settings

The following settings are available in the Preferences pane. To determine what preferences are applicable to a specific plot, see the Settings section in the topic for that plot.

OptionDescription
Font sizeSets the size of text being displayed.
Symbol sizeSets the scale for symbol size (scale value times the given symbol size from the View > Style selection).
Line widthSets the scale for line width (scale value times the given line width from the View > Style selection).
Enable axesActivates and deactivates axes.
Enable linesActivates and deactivates rendering of point and line layers content.
Enable lightingFor a 3D plot, activates and deactivates light showing some glowing spot on symbols, for example.
LabelsChanges the label displayed at the x-axis, y-axis, z-axis, or the title.
Rotation
  • For 3D plots, change the rotation by value:

    • Euler angles—standard x convention (z, x', z'')

    • Alpha—rotate around z

    • Beta—rotate around x’ (after Alpha)

    • Gamma—rotate around z’' (after Alpha and Beta)

  • Rotation views:

    • Default —(135.0, -70.0, 0.0)

    • ISO: NE—(45.0, -45.0, 0.0)

    • ISO: SE—(135.0, -45.0, 0.0)

    • ISO: SW—( -135.0, -45.0, 0.0)

    • ISO: NW—( -45.0, -45.0, 0.0)

Axes rotation
  • Enable—activates and deactivates rotation of text displayed at the axes

  • Orthogonal—set the angle either to 0 or 90 degrees

  • X—Sets the rotation angle for text displayed at the x-axis

  • Y—Sets the rotation angle for text displayed at the y-axis

Axes formatsSets the formatting float values with given format strings (default is %g) for existing axes.
Axis rangesSets the minimum and maximum value for each axis range.
Choose X-Axis, Choose Y-Axis, Choose Z-Axis

Normally, plots display dimensions selected in dimension combo boxes, for example Anthill plot x-axis from first dimension selection and y-axis from second dimension selection. These settings allow you to:

  • Show a global axis (for example, a global y-axis at the x-axis) in a plot

  • Show a specific dimension (for example, at the x-axis), overwriting changes made in the dimension combo boxes

Palette
  • Show palette—Displays or hides the palette

  • Preset—Select a pre-defined palette from the list

  • Minimum/Maximum—Sets the minimum and maximum values to span the palette range, every value outside these settings is colored with outside range colors defined in the palette

  • Geometry—Determines position and size percentual to the plot scenery

Legend
  • Enable legend—Displays or hides the legend

  • Font size—Sets the font size of the text inside the legend

  • Geometry—Determines position and size percentual to the plot scenery

Window appearance
  • Window visibility—Displays or hides the window

  • Window geometry—Sets the window dimensions (X, Y, Width, Height )
