4. Add-ons

The following updates were made to the Mechanical add-ons for Release 2024 R2:

  • The DesignLife add-on now offers the following capabilities:

    • Frequency Selection Method for frequency-domain loading events.

    • Selection of existing Harmonic and Modal systems for the Environment definition of a frequency-based load.

    • Tabular display of Shell Layer, Seam Weld Location and Seam Weld Type results for a Shell Seam Weld analysis.

    • Temperature option for Strain and Stress analyses.

    • Additional Surface Finish options are now available for Material Assignment.

    • Reading of the nCode Material database for Stress, Strain, Gray Iron, and Safety Factor analysis.

    • Alternating Stress, Mean Stress, and Minimum and Maximum Stress can be returned under Other Results for all analysis types.

    • The most-damaged node or mesh Ids can be extracted using the post graphics Most Damaged Id tabular information.

    • The Time Series Output History now works in the Time and Frequency domains for multiple analysis types (Stress, Strain, Gray Iron, Shell, and Solid Seam Weld) and can be displayed for the selected Most Damaged Ids.

    • Fatigue Life estimation for MSUP Transient analysis with manual .rst selection.

  • The NVH Toolkit add-on now includes support for:

    • Non-unitary force values for modal and harmonic analysis in the FRF Calculator.

    • Cyclic symmetry using the MAC Calculator.

    • Coordinate transformation and differing units for RST to RST comparison in the MAC Calculator.

    • New DPF operators to improve performance of MAC Table calculation (both in MAC Calculator and Pre-Test Calculator).

    • The FRF Calculator is now available in a Harmonic Analysis for the Mode Superposition solution method.

    • The FRF Calculator now supports a load scaling factor in both Modal and Harmonic Analysis.

  • Restart Analysis is a new addition to the Add-ons Ribbon. This add-on makes Static-Static or Transient-Transient structural restart capabilities available within the Mechanical environment.

  • Additional localization support is available for the Restart Analysis and Forced Response add-ons. These add-ons now support Chinese, Japanese, German, and French languages as well as varied decimal separators.
