Extracting a Beam

  1. From the ribbon in the Prepare tab, select Extract.
To convert an existing 3D solid to a beam, the solid must have a constant cross-section. However, it can have tapered ends, notches, or cut-outs along its length.
  2. Select the 3D solid.
Discovery creates a beam profile and assignment for the new beam and lists it in the Physics tree. You can edit, rename, or delete the beam profile from there.
