Force Tool Guides and Options
Force Tool Guides
The following tool guides are available.
Direction tool | The Direction tool defines the direction of the applied condition. When this tool is active, select an entity (a geometry or direction in the local coordinate system) to align the direction with that entity. |
Force Types
The following Force types are available:
Distributed | Distributes the force across the selected geometry. You can decide in the Tool Options if the force varies depending on the area of a surface to which it is applied. |
Torque | Specifies a force that causes an object to rotate. |
Force Tool Options
The following options are available for the Distributed force type:
Force | Enter the force magnitude. |
Total force | Select to define the force as a total force. |
Force per unit area | Select to define the force per unit area. This option is useful if the force is dependent on the geometry. For example, a load due to snow or wind. |
Use force components | Select to specify the force as X, Y, Z components. |
Use remote point | Select if you want to apply the force from an arbitrary point in space. Discovery automatically chooses a point in space, shown by an arrow, but you can also enter the coordinates. |
The following options are available for the Torque force type:
Force | Enter the force magnitude. |
Use force components | Select to specify the force as X, Y, Z components. |
