Displacement Tool Guides and Options

Displacement Tool Guides

The following tool guides are available:

Direction tool The Direction tool defines the direction of the applied condition. When this tool is active, select an entity (a geometry or direction in the local coordinate system) to align the direction with that entity.

Displacement Types

The following displacement types are available:

Translation Displaces the selected faces a specified distance normal to a plane.
Rotation Rotates the selected faces a specified distance along a cylinder.
Combined Displaces the selected faces normal to a plane and then rotates them.

Displacement Tool Options

The following options are available:

Translation Enter the distance the selected face(s) is to be moved by. Available for the Translation and Combined displacement types.
Rotation Enter the rotated distance the selected face(s) are to be moved by. Available for the Rotation and Combined displacement types.
dx, dy, dz Specify the displacement translation as X, Y, Z components. You can keep specific directions as free to move, or if fixed, specify how far they are to be moved. Available for the Translation and Combined displacement types.
0x, 0y, 0z Specify the displacement rotation as X, Y, Z components. You can keep specific directions as free to move, or if fixed, specify how far they are to be moved. Available for the Rotation and Combined displacement types.
Use remote point Select if you want to apply the displacement from an arbitrary point in space. Discovery automatically chooses a point in space, shown by an arrow, but you can also enter the coordinates as X, Y, and Z values.
