Cross Section View Tool Guides and Options

Tool Guides

Select Section View Select this tool option and then click a view to that you would like cross sectioned. Move your cursor to a projected view to set the depth of the cross section.
Select Reference Geometry Inside Drawing View Select to place the section line. You can use Horizontal, Vertical, and Through Selection options to select the appropriate arrow orientation and General View and Auxiliary View to create the desired view.
Set Pivot for Aligned Sections Select this tool guide and click somewhere on the section line to set the pivot point.
Create Offset Section Select this tool guide and click the section line at a point where you want to create an offset. Drag the side of the section line you want to have pass through a different detail and continue until you establish all necessary offsets.
Create Aligned Section Select this tool guide and click somewhere on the section line to set a cutter point.

Tool Options

Create a total cross-section Check to set the view's section type property to Total. Uncheck this option to set the property to Area.
Horizonal/Vertical/Through Selection Choose the direction to orient the arrows. Select Through Selection to orient the arrows based on the highlighted object.
General View Create as General View to place the view in any location on the drawing sheet.
Auxiliary View Create as Auxiliary View to link the orientation of the cross-section view to the view containing the arrows.
