7.5.1. Boundary Association Tab

On this tab, you set up a mapping between GT-SUITE interfaces and CFX boundaries.

You can set Option to one of the following:

  • Specify Boundary Names

With this option, you can map GT-SUITE interfaces to CFX boundaries by selecting and/or entering CFX boundary names in the CFX Boundary column of the two-column mapping table that appears on the Boundary Association tab.

  • No Boundary Association

With this option, no GT-SUITE interfaces are mapped to CFX boundaries as part of the GT-SUITE Coupling initialization process. In this case, you must set up the mapping manually later. Mappings can be set up later by editing each GT-SUITE Patch function associated with the GT-SUITE model, to specify which CFX boundary will be used to provide quantities to the corresponding GT-SUITE interface. For details, see GT-SUITE Patch Functions.

You can select Allow new boundary names to enable you to name non-existent CFX boundaries, facilitating the mapping process. If you do select this check box then you must create any such boundaries later, unless you also select the Create missing boundaries check box, in which case CFX-Pre, upon clicking OK or Apply, automatically creates any non-existent mapped boundaries. After clicking OK or Apply, you are given the chance (in the Specify Locations for New Boundaries dialog box) to specify the relevant domain for each new boundary that will be created, and, optionally, the location for the boundary. You should later check the settings of all automatically created CFX boundaries.

If you select Modify boundaries to use GT-SUITE coupling then CFX-Pre, upon clicking OK or Apply, automatically changes the settings of the mapped CFX boundaries so that each mapped boundary interacts with its associated GT-SUITE interface. You should later check the settings of all automatically modified CFX boundaries.

If Allow new boundary names is selected, the Matching and Selection Options settings allow you to choose which names are available for selection in the CFX Boundary column. If you click the Reset matches and selections in table button, CFX-Pre will disregard any CFX boundary names that are already specified and re-calculate the best matches from the currently specified list of boundary names and/or mesh region names.
