4.5. Boundary Conditions and Loading

Symmetry displacement boundary conditions are applied to all nodes on the axis of symmetry.

No boundary conditions are applied to the rigid targets, as they are automatically restrained via the TARGE169 target element's default behavior (KEYOPT(2) = 0).

The top rigid surface is displaced downwards by 138 mm in one load step. The downward displacement compresses the cylindrical block (work piece), and the material flows to fill up the space between the dies.
