3.2.1.10. User Defined RVE

A user defined RVE consists of one or more phases and each of the phase consists of one or more solid bodies.

  • Each phase consists of a linear elastic material (which can be isotropic, orthotropic or anisotropic).

  • The RVE is an axis-aligned rectangular cuboid.

  • All the bodies need to be directly in the MainPart of the document (no components).

  • The bodies may not intersect each other.

  • The connection in between the bodies as well as between the bodies and the RVE boundary must be such that there are enough constraints for each body for each load case, in particular:

    • There must be a face on each boundary face of the RVE.

    • Isolated bodies in the interior are not allowed.
