Generating a Stereo Signal

Sound: Analysis and Specification allows you to generate a stereo signal, a signal with two different channels. When listening to a stereo signal through headphones, you hear two different sounds in the left and right ears.

Note: By convention, when you read and write a stereo signal, channel 1 is playbacked on left audio output and channel 2 is playbacked on right audio output.

To Generate a Stereo Signal:

  1. Open at least two temporal signals.
  2. Click Tools > Create a stereo signal.
  3. From the Create a stereo signal dialog box, click the drop-down button to select the signal for the Left channel.
  4. Click the drop-down button to select the signal for the Right channel.
  5. Check Add to a new block and type a name for the new block.
  6. Click OK to generate and display the stereo signal.

The stereo signal is generated.
